Liz then used fabric and paper to gather, fray, glue and stitch to fill in the spaces in the wired shapes, standing each element that she made in a piece of plastercine. She then challenged us to make elements using our own materials or to use any of the materials on her table, which included handmade stamps and ink pads, fabric, papers, needles and so on.
After returning to our own workspace, we opened our parcel to a lovely selection of wires, pre-bent by Liz, so we were able to start creating elements immediately. After much fiddling, faffing, stitching and using glue with not-so-nimble fingers, a lovely display of elements appeared on pieces of plastercine, with Liz giving her time freely with advice and suggestions. | |

Whilst the day school members were busy the ‘Stitch and Chat’ group were also being industrious, as always, by working on their own projects which included Crewel work, wire work, free style embroidery, stitching encrusted stones, weaving woven woods and knitting and crocheting.
