There was also a table for something special that we had been working towards over the last few months. Everyone in Preston Embroiderers Guild had been embroidering 4" x 6" postcards, one for each of the last 60 years. These were to be displayed on our 60th Anniversary boards which will eventually be sewn together, when completed, to become a book.

After the notices were given at 10:00 am, the open day began.

Val Coleshaw had brought a handmade
gift to be given as a prize, in honour of
our 60th Anniversary, which was presented
by Dee.

Mary Holden and Beryl Carr, two of our longest serving members,
said a few words about their memories of the Guild in Preston.

Finally, Sandie and Dee cut the 60th celebration cake,
baked by Brenda Monkhouse
