Our meeting began with our AGM, a time to reflect on what had gone on in the past year, and a time to vote in any new nominations for positions on the team. Liz Holden was voted in as our new Treasurer, and Edwina Winter was voted in as our new Secretary, Rosie Kirkham joined the committee and Stephanie Spencer kindly agreed to take over the running of the library from Irene Pugmire. Irene ran the library very successfully in recent years, and as she was stepping down, we presented her with a gift whilst giving our thanks, as can be seen in the photograph below. We held our Gertrude Goodenough competition next, and here are the pieces of work that were entered. ..............and the winner of our competition was Carole Hind, with the runner up being Pam Whittaker. We had such a lot of things going on today. Gina Bush had brought some cakes from her Macmillan Coffee Morning, for which we each gave a donation. As we are busily preparing for our Exhibition, which is to be at Barton Grange in February, some of us had brought finished pieces from the day schools/workshops we had been involved in throughout the year. During the afternoon session, we were all busily looking at the displays, working on our own projects and having our usual catch up, with lots of cups of tea, cakes and biscuits! The ladies who had been working on their travelling books, had set their work out for us to look at, and it never ceases to amaze us, the amount of work that goes into these little books, they are just so interesting to see. Our meeting came to a close, and everyone had enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of sewing and chatting!
